Tank Specialties Inc. was formed by Don Smith in 1992 to develop new gaugeheads and gaugeboards for the energy, water and waste water industries.

We have developed a "Vaportight" Gaugehead TS-6000 HYT for existing and new liquid level indicators. Unlike other systems that require fluid for the seal, this is a dry wire system that will not allow the vapors of fluid to escape from the tank. Each gaugehead is tested to 50 inches of water column. They are available in full, half and direct readout systems.

Tank Specialties Inc. has developed a "Vaportight" Dial Gaugehead TS-6006-HYT-D for underground and above ground tankage. It has an 8 inch dial readout for viewing over 50 feet. Requires no electricity.

We have also adapted the TS-6006 with a remote monitor for use in the oil industry to monitor "frac" systems where many tanks are used in the stimulation of an oil well. This system uses a monitor on the gaugehead that sends wireless data to a controller to be read out on a computer, up to a mile distance. The monitor can read tank levels on as many as 100 tanks in as few as one minute cycles. This system can be used in any environment where remote monitoring is an advantage. This system like the TS-6000 is tested to 50 inches of water column and is portable from tank to tank, with just a 4 inch coupling on the tank.

Tank Specialties Inc. has developed an economical gaugehead TS-6006-E for use where vaportight is not a critical design. It also is portable as it can be moved from tank to tank. Requires a 3 inch coupling on the tank. All units have aluminum housing and stainless mechanism come complete with wire and stainless float. Ideal for water, chemicals and remote tankage for fire requirements in the 6, 8, 10 and 12 foot tanks.
